These Is No Need To Pay Money For A Wooden Plaque - Great Ampong To Colleagues Musicians.

The selection criteria for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) have received a great deal of criticism over the years since their establishment.

The general public, entertainment experts, and singers themselves are the ones that criticize the most, alleging that some awards have been purchased by certain people in the music business.

The event’s organizer, Charterhouse, has repeatedly denied these accusations, admonishing that the choice of winners is made using both the voting process and a board decision.

Great Ampong, a gospel artist better known by his stage name Isaiah Kwadwo Apmong, has warned musicians who pay to receive prizes to cease doing so because it makes no difference.

The singer-songwriter added that the VGMA award is a wooden plaque and that there is no need to pay for it because the recipient is not provided with meals.

“There is no need to pay money for a wooden plaque. Ours are in the house, it doesn’t feed us so there is no need to pay money for it.” He told Kingdom FM in an interview.
