Why I Laughed When A Prophet Gave Prophecies About A Football Match - Pastor Adeboye Reveals

Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of the spoke on, "Vessels Unto Honour" at RCCG April 2023 Thanksgiving Service, 2nd April, 2023.

According to him, "When you are a vessel unto honour in the hands of the Almighty God, you hear what is going on in the heavens. If you are a vessel unto honour in the hands of the Almighty God, you will hear conversations that other people don't hear. Some of these conversations, you can't even share them. For example, the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 12:2-4, it talks about a man called Paul (whether in the body or out of body), he was taken into the third heavens. He heard words that cannot be spoken.

He then said that when you become a vessel unto honour in the hands of God, you hear things. You don't belong to the class of those who call themselves prophet who prophesy all kinds of jokes. They'd say, "Thus saith the Lord, it is going to rain in June" knowing fully well that June is a rainy season.

He then told them the story of why he laughed when a prophet gave prophecies about a football match. He said, "one prophet in Nigeria was prophesying sometimes ago. Three Nations you're going to compete for football and he said, "Thus saith the Lord, if Nigeria will do this and this, they will win." I laughed because if God is going to tell you the winner, He will tell you the winner, no guess work. When you are a vessel unto honour, the Lord will tell you things that many time you will find it difficult to repeat.
