Why People Should Not Depend So Much On Dreams - Pastor Kumuyi Speaks

Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry spoke to his leaders about, "The Power Of God's Word In Abiding Believers" at a recent Leadership Development Service.

In one of his subtopics, he spoke about, "The Purpose And Power Of His Word In The Heart" and said that the word of God is the standard. His word is His law, and His law is His word. Accept the word of God in your heart and continue in them. Receive all that are written in it and obey them. The word of God builds us up. There is the need to take heed to the word of God because it separates you from sin and iniquities, but sin separates you from the word.

He then revealed why people should not depend so much on dreams. He said, "Some people depend so much on dreams whereas, dreams do not show anyone the way of salvation or how to get to heaven. The word of God is very important. The word of God is like hammer which breaks hardened hearts, and fire will burn every chaff and useless things off our lives."

He then said that the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. It brings conviction, discerns our hearts, situations and shows us the way to go. The word tells the sinner he needs to repent, and that Jesus is Saviour. Be doers of the word, so that it can effect every change that is necessary in you. Don't be deceived or deceive yourself.

Finally, he said, "I pray that the word you are hearing will have impact on your lives and everyone around you from your immediate family members to the people around you who will be able to testify that indeed, you have been with the Lord. Keep the word of God, this is the biggest evidence."
