“Daddy Lumba Is Not How People Perceive Him to Be; Ignore Allegations” — Appietus

Charles Kwadwo Fosu is a Ghanaian singer-songwriter and musician. He’s known in the music industry as Daddy Lumba (DL) born in a village called Nsuta Amangoase in the Sekyere Central District, near Mampong in the Ashanti Region. He is widely viewed as the greatest Ghanaian musician ever lived.

Daddy Lumba, in all, has released about 34 albums. Some of his hit albums are Aben Wɔha, Awosuɔ, Obi Ate Me So Buɔ, Sika Asɛm and Ebi Se Ɛyɛ Aduro etc...

Before the year 2002, Daddy Lumba was releasing every year with a hit album. DL has won several “Ghana Music Awards” and other excellence awards and continue to inspire the young and old.

Veteran Ghanaian Music Producer, Appiah Dankwah, known in the music industry as Appietus, has come out to disclose untrue allegations towards the legend highlife musician, by some musicians that Daddy Lumba, cheated them after collaborating with them.

According to Appiah, even though Daddy Lumba is innocent, he is generally misunderstood by many because he does never respond to criticism.

Appietus was responding to recent allegations by Daddy Lumba’s former collaborators, Great Ampong and Voltage, who alleged in separate interviews that Daddy Lumba refused to honour his financial obligations after they worked with him.
According to Ampong, Lumba refused to give him part of the revenue from their joint album dubbed, Hossana, after they had agreed to share the proceeds equally.

In defending the ace highlife singer who lives in Germany, however, Appietus who has been all time with Daddy Lumba thinks “DL is not how people perceive him to be.”

During an interview with TV XYZ, Appietus revealed that Daddy Lumba is one cool person and that unless you are closer to him, you wouldn’t know his real character.

Appietus added: “He is a cool guy. People don’t know him. He is very reserved because he doesn’t want to be disturbed. He always wants to be alone and think of himself. He is a free person. He can crack jokes to break your ribs. Therefore, if you are not close to him, you might not understand him.”
