Do you know the Twelve Types of Teachers in Schools?

The following are types of Teachers that are also found in our various Ghanaian schools… According to Wambugu wa Kamau: A Kenyan motivational speaker, we have twelve types of Teachers in schools.

1. Staff Mediators

These are Teachers who calm Staffroom environment when differences arise. These Teachers are always careful; they do not easily offend anyone. They are also hardly offended. They are liked by both students and Teachers.

2. The News Channel

These are categories of Teachers who are always updated on the current affairs ranging from politics to student’s affairs. They know everything about the school, Teachers, students and even finer details about their parents.

3. The Clown

These are the funniest Teachers within the school compound. They are referred to fun makers who rarely takes anything seriously. When they are absent they are easily noticed by everybody.

4. The Silent Listener

They are also categories of Teachers who rarely contribute to the debates. Most of their time, they are busy marking books.

5. Responsible Parents

These are Teachers who are informed about learners’ problems more than a class Teacher.

6. The Opposition Leader

They are always complaining about how administration is failing.

7. The Fashionist

They are always careful with their dressing code. For ladies, they are always consulted on matters of fashion trends.

8. The Subject Master

This is a self-appointed director of his or her subject. Whenever the subject is mentioned he or she responds immediately.

9. The Conveyer Belt

These Teachers act as the quick Information link between the staff and administration. He or she communicates secrets to the Authories for little or no pay.

10. The Broke One

They are notorious borrowers who are always broke. The new staff is warned about them during orientation.

11. The I.T Specialist

He or she is trusted by other Teachers on technological matters. They teach other Teachers on how to operate phones, tablets, computers etc…

12. Good Example

These are among the successful Teachers within the school compound. Other Teachers use him as an example.
