Ghana to Face Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar

The all awaited draw for the Qatar World Cup came off today in Qatar. Thirty-two nations have gained the right to compete in the royal fiesta in November.

For Africa, Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia, Morocco and Ghana will be representing the continent. Ghana was pitted in Pot 4 alongside 7 other lowly ranked sides among the 32 who are competing.

For many Ghanaians the teams they wanted the nation to avoid in Pot 1 were England, France, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Belgium. Perhaps Qatar was the lowest link in Pot 1. After the pairings, this is what the groups will look like.

Group A will have Qatar, Holland, Senegal and Ecuador.

Group B has England, United States, Iran and Euro Playoff winner.

Group C features Argentina, Mexico, Poland and Saudi Arabia.

Group D involves France, Denmark, Tunisia and Intercontinental Playoff 1 winner.

Group E will see Spain, Germany, Japan and Intercontinental Playoff 2 winner.

Group F has Belgium, Croatia, Morocco and Canada.

Group G sees Brazil, Switzerland, Serbia and Cameroon.

Group H features Portugal, Uruguay, South Korea and Ghana.

It will be interesting to see how Ghana will fare in the competition. The last time Ghana was in the world Cup they lost 1-2 to Portugal in their last match.
