How Much Will FIFA Pay Football Clubs in Order for Players to Participate in FIFA World Cup 2022?

The anticipated FIFA World Cup 2022 will take place in Qatar starting on 21st November with the final to be played on 18th December 2022.

Players will go to Qatar for the world’s most prestigious tournament. The pooling has already been completed, countries including Ghana are already aware of their opponents and preparation on various part is ongoing.

Ghana appears to be one of Africa’s top teams at the moment and became the first African nation to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, has been placed alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
Despite the fact that the Portugal with its striker Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the finest player in the world, Ghana still appears to be favorable.

Now, let’s look at how much FIFA will pay football clubs in order for players to participate in the event.

According to estimates, FIFA pays the clubs $209 million in insurance. The money is distributed, however, based on the number of players released by a team.

This indicates that a team with a large number of players in the World Cup will receive a higher percentage than a team with a small number of players.

Teams will receive $2 million to prepare for the competition, according to the same report. For participating in the group stages, the teams will get an additional $10 million.

My attention is drawn to the competition’s winners. Aside from $2 million for preparation and $10 million for participation in the group rounds, the champion will receive an additional $50 million, bringing the total prize pool to $62 million.

Where Does FIFA Get the Funds to Sponsor World Cup?

FIFA get the funds to sponsor world cup through extensive TV and online streaming rights for all their major competitions and that helped increase the revenue from TV/streaming broadcasting deals.

Additionally, their revenue comes from TV & media rights sales and other commercial activities, from ticket sales & hospitality packages and licensing fees.
