"If Kylian Mbappe Was Born in Cameroon, He Wouldn't Have Become the Striker He Is Today" - Arsene Wenger

Arsène Charles Ernest Wenger is a French former football manager and player who is currently serving as FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development. He was the manager of Arsenal from 1996 to 2018, where he was the longest-serving and most successful in the club's history.

Wenger is currently employed at FIFA working on helping young African talents to break through despite difficulties.

However, Arsene Wenger recently gave his verdict on African football and Paris Saint-Germain's star player, Kylian Mbappe who is currently the world's most valuable football player.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Arsene Wenger said; "Kylian Mbappe has African roots but was trained in Europe. If he'd been born in Cameroon, he wouldn't have become the striker he is today. There's Europe and there's the rest of the world. The latter needs help, otherwise, we're going to miss a great deal of talent."

Arsene Wenger's verdict justifies the fact that African football can never get to the level of the Europeans if no help is shown to them in the coming years.

Indeed, Africa has produced great players such as Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, Asamoah Gyan, Michael Essien, Mane, Salah and many more.

Was Arsene Wenger’s comment too harsh to Africans or he’s somehow right? What’s opinion about it?
