"Marriage to Obama was Not Easy." Michelle Obama Narrates

Michelle was married to Barrack Obama in 1992 and the couple has two children; Malia Ann born in 1998 and Natasha, popularly known as Sasha, born in 2001. The two lovebirds have never shied from publicizing their love and posting romantic messages about each other.

Michelle Obama, has advised couples saying that at the onset of marriage relationships, 5 to 10 years it was never easy, it was never 50-50; someone was always giving more than the other.

According to Michelle, she said; “she often gets questions about how she and Barack have stayed together for so long. This year they celebrated their 30th anniversary.”

In an interview with NPR, talking about her 30 years of marriage, she disclosed;

-'Marriage is never 50/50'

"If I look over my marriage if I were to judge it in year five or year ten, there was never 50/50; Someone was always giving way too much. Someone was always in need of something different. You must evolve alongside it. And so there were times when I felt like I was doing 70% and he was doing 30% because of the decisions I made about how I wanted our family to look."

She wants young people to understand that being in a relationship means making compromises with your partner, which is not an easy thing. Michelle said that she feels bad when people give up on relationships just because they had a minor agreement. Her advice is to expect long stretches of discomfort.
