My Husband Is Too Religious & It Is Affecting Our Marriage-Married Woman Narrates

I’m a young lady of 31 years. Throughout my whole life i have never taken alcohol, I have never smoked before, neither have I been to the club before.

I believe in Christ; I know what it is to pray vigorously.

Now my husband married me from Presbyterian church to a new church, Before marriage the agreement was that I cannot conform to their church rules which is(no platting of hair, no wearing of wigcaps, no fixing of eye lash or nails, no makeups n stuffs) so I Wil go to my church and he Wil go to his own but once in a while, I can visit his church and he can visit mine as well.

We have been married for two years now and is been hell. We Don’t have any major marital problem apart from religious issues. I plate ma hair and there is war, I wear wig cap and there is fire on the mountain, if I do makeups then wahala.

My husband’s church has a lot of things and he wants to tie those rules around my neck which that was not the agreement before marriage. Due to that, He never contempt with whatever I do as a wife. He keeps comparing me to other ladies is because am not doing as his church says, his behavior, care and responsibilities towards me has changed. We have 1 and half year baby and I’m currently pregnant with our 2nd child. Seriously I’m confused and don't know what to do. The church has made my husband believe that everyone around him is evil.

He doesn’t even want me to go close to family members. He doesn’t visit neither his dad or mum but sends them money occasionally. He’s too glued to religion that it’s causing chaos in our house.
Even if you should go to church and sit at the back wahala. He believes the blessings are given to those in front before those at the back. And he also believes my makeup and braids may bring bad luck to us.

Now, I wanted to stop attending his church and move back to ma presby since I can't abide to the rules of his church but my mum said when both of us attend the same church, it helps in bringing up the kids together.

My husband is not a womanizer though but he is very difficult, quick tempered and talks to me anyhow. I Don't know if is because his education level or what. He’s a junior high school graduate and I’m a tertiary graduate.

This marriage thing is complicated. Please advise me on what to do. I’m confused.
