NaSIA sent Vital Information to Head teachers, Teachers and School Owners

The National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) is an agency of the Ministry of Education mandated by Parliament to provide an independent external evaluation of the quality and standards in basic and second cycle educational institutions in the country on a periodic basis. In a press statement from The National Schools Inspectorate Authority, NaSIA to school heads, teachers, parents, proprietors, and other educational stakeholders shared on the NaSIA 's official social media page, sighted by Frencheducationgh.

In the press statement, it highlighted some major changes in the practicing of Covid-19 protocols in both private and public schools in Ghana.

In the statement signed by Inspector General of Schools-"Haggar Hilda Ampadu", it was highlighted;

1. The wearing of a nose mask at school is now optional and should not the reason for granting or denying ingress or access to students.

2. Schools may cautiously resume large outdoor assemblies or gatherings while taking the necessary precautions to avoid instances of overcrowding on their campuses.

3. Schools may embark on excursions or educational trips as and when deemed necessary.

4. Schools should put in measures to tackle vaccine hesitancy and see to the full vaccination of both teaching and non-teaching staff. This is particularly important because of existing remnants of Covid-19 virus.

5. Hand—washing and hand—sanitizing facilities should still be maintained and placed at vantage points where they are easily accessible to both staff and learners.

6. Schools should still be on the lookout for signs and symptoms associated with Covid-19 and take the appropriate measures upon detection.

This follows the president's speech televised live on Sunday, March 26, 2022 about the update on Ghana's Covid-19 active cases and the way forward. It emerged after the speech that the president has softened the Covid-19 measures by eradicating “No Nose mask, No entry” rule.
