Refusal by Teachers to Accept Postings to Rural Ghana Affecting BECE Results-DCE

The District Chief Executive of Kwahu Afram Plains North, Mr. Isaac Ofori Koree, has expressed concern about teachers and nurses refusing to accept postings to rural areas describing it as worrying.

He said in the area of education, the refusal of teachers to accept postings to deprived communities is affecting the quality of teaching, learning and the performance of candidates who sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination.

The DCE made the call at his “First General Assembly meeting” where he encouraged teachers and health professionals to stop rejecting postings to rural communities.

The DCE, who is particular about education, said the issue has contributed to the decline of academic performance of school children in the communities and the Districts.
