Teacher Allegedly Commits Suicide at Aboaso SHS, Leaves Behind Twin Children

In today’s news, it is all heartbreak and sadness as 27 years’ man, Mike Bonsu, teaching mathematics as a National Service Personnel at Aboaso Senior High School allegedly commits suicide inside his apartment.

Mike Bonsu, who hails from Ejisu in the Ashanti Region relocated to Aboaso prior to his National Service placement. He resided in the teacher’s bungalow upon his arrival at the school and has been staying there since. According to his students, he was a humble and friendly teacher who liked his work and took it seriously. They said that he never missed a class.

“Sir Mike was very punctual and serious with his work and thought us well, after we came back to school from the Christmas holidays, we saw him around but on the day classes were supposed to resume, we did not see him when it was time for his class. Our class prefect went to the bungalow to call him after waiting for a while. But he came back to say that his door is locked. So we organized ourselves to learn on our own. Our headmaster passed by our class and asked of Sir Mike and we told him what happened. So he called him on phone but nobody answered. He got suspicious and said he’s also going to check his bungalow and our class prefect went with him”, one of his students told us.

We later got in touch with the class prefect and inquired from him what actually happened because the headmaster denied us an interview.

” I went with our headmaster to his bungalow and upon reaching there and calling his phone, it ringed in his room and our headmaster peeped into his window and told me to rush and call the school’s carpenter. I was very confused and quickly rushed to call him. Headmaster then told the carpenter to break into our teacher’s room and behold, our teacher had hanged his body from the ceiling and was obviously dead. The police was called to convey the body and secure the scene”. The class prefect explained.

Per the information we gathered, Mike Bonsu left behind his wife and twins his wife just gave birth to. Our special condolences to Mike’s family…
