Why Should Students Pay Over GHC 2,000 Because of Licensure Exam? But How Much Is the School Fees Mpo?

The Executive Director of Africa Educational Watch has questioned why some students are paying 2,000 cedis for licensure examination in some college of health and allied sciences.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, 26th March 2022 he wrote;

“This is all because of IGF. The university must raise cash at all cost because government’s subvention is woefully inadequate to run the universities. At a point, universities were contributing up to 75% of education sector’s IGF revenue.

So, you can imagine what would happen if the Finance Minister pursues his knee jerk policy to ‘transfer the responsibility’ for university staff salaries to universities. You might even pay a fee just to visit your int3 self.

NUGS, USAG etc must put aside their party gowns and fight this obnoxious policy proposal, else ego ova them morrow!.”

Kofi Asare also shared the evidence of the amount to be paid by students on his wall.
The letter indicated that, final year students are to pay 2,000 cedis for licensure and preparation of their examination.

The letter can be found on Frencheducationgh.com website.
