Ga Traditional Council announced the passing of Ga Manye

The Ga Traditional Council has yesterday on the 8th Febuary 2023 announced the passing of Manyɛ Naa Dedei Omaeduro III , Ga Manye.

Announcing the demise during a press conference, Ambassador Parker Allotey disclosed that, the queen who reigned for more than 50years died on the 26th of December 2022 at her residence.

He outlined, that the queen will be laid to rest on the 29th of April 2023 and emphasized that other traditional rites and bans pending the final funeral rites will be communicated in due time.

He also assured the general public that giving the nature of our region and it's economic significance to Ghanaians, leniency will be applied when imposing bans.

Meanwhile, a book of condolence will be opened on the 13th Febuary 2023 at the Ga Traditional Council.

An account has however been opened at the Consolidated Bank of Ghana, CBG, to collect donations and contributions towards the funeral preparations for Naa Dedei Omaeduro III.

Naa Dedei Omawduro III, was installed queen in the year 1963 at the age of 29 years and reigned for 60years.

She was the longest serving queen until her demise.

Chairing the presser was Nii Adote Otintor, Sempe mantsɛ and supporting him were Nii Ahene Nunoo, Abola mants, Nii Dodoo Nsaki, Otublohum mants and other relevant stakeholders.
