Naana Ogbey Osah, (born 1750 – 1950) was a hardworking farmer, who discovered a village in Ada called Ogbekope, also known as Wassakuse wayo -Togbloku.
Naana Ogbey was born at Kadja-dosise, a village in Ada; later in life, she got married to Nene Teye Sewu, who was a chief of Togbloku Okor.
She was a mother of 14; namely Awuyah, Amewusika, Kakaako, Afloto, Attah & Lawer, Doe, Doetse, Mangɔ, Baajo, Agbantia, Yomuɔ, Vumawoɔ and Damenoɔ.
Naana Ogbey and her children were the talk of town because her first child, Awuyah was a cripple; the first of its kind in Togbloku, which made her family a subject of mockery to the community.
It became a serious situation when the rest of her children started fighting the mockers (other children). That became a major concerned for her, and so started conceiving the idea to relocate.
Naana Ogbey, being a hard worker, went to farm almost every day, at a place called Dokunoɔ, located between Dogo and Togbloku.
One day she went to the farm and decided to settle at present day Ogbekope.
Her Husband Nene Teye Sewu, waited till the fall of the sun but she never returned. He then went in search for her.
After several hours of search, he finally saw a thick smoke in the sky and decided to walk towards its direction. He got to the source of the smoke and there was his wife cooking. The said spot became their settlement until their demise.
Naana Ogbey lived up to 200 years. She died in 1950.
An interesting event that characterized her last five years was she was “dried” (exposed to the sun) every single day to make her weak and pale body warm.
