Okuapehene (Paramount chief of Akuapem) Nana Kwasi Akuffo II, shaking hands with the Prince of Wales, Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David in Accra, Gold Coast (now Ghana). 1925

12th -16th April 1925; the then Prince of Wales Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David paid official visit to the then Gold Coast colony which is now the Republic of Ghana.

The Prince of Wales, later known as the Duke of Windsor, and was King Edward VIII of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Empire and Emperor of India from 20 January 1936 until his abdication in December of the same year.

Okuapehene (Paramount chief of Akuapem) Nana Kwasi Akuffo II: The 20th occupant of the Oforikuma Stool of Akuapem in 1895 at the age of 32.

Reigned: 1895 – 1907 & 1920 – 1927

He hailed from Sakyiabea House - one of the three ruling houses of the Asona clan of Akropong-Akuapem.

Nana Kwasi Akuffo was the first Akuapehene to attain a formal baptism as a Christian and a continuous eleven years of formal education up to a high institution.

Died in 1927; Nana Kwasi Akuffo left behind as many as 62 recognized wives, with wives in each of the 17 towns of Akuapem; 127 children,142 grandchildren and 54 great - grandchildren.

Thus, gave him the appellation “Ananse a ɔwoo apem” meaning Spider who gave birth to thousand.
