GTA hosted Nine Lessons & Carols to Mark the Commencement of the Akwaaba Village

The Ghana Tourism Authority orchestrated a grand event of nine lessons and carols, marking the commencement of the Akwaaba Village.

Conceived in collaboration with the Ghana Exim Bank, Ghana Trade Fair Company, and Ghana Airports Company Limited, this family-centric bazaar is a integral part of the December in GH festivities.

During today's inauguration, the event's master of ceremonies, Ernest Odame, underscored that the initiative aims to curate unforgettable experiences, champion Made in Ghana products, and revel in the nation's profound cultural heritage through music, food, and art.

Recently, December in GH has earned acclaim as one of the premier months to experience Ghana and engage in the country's historical events. The Akwaaba Village, scheduled from December 15th, 2023, to January 8th, 2024, near the Hajj Village close to the Airport Roundabout, aspires to unite people in a jubilant ambiance, nurturing community and spotlighting Ghana's dynamic spirit in art, food, music, and nightlife.

“We are thrilled to unveil the Akwaaba Village as a centerpiece of our December in GH 2023 festivities," declared Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of GTA. "This is not just a celebration; it’s an entreaty for families and visitors to immerse themselves in the warmth and hospitality that Ghana is renowned for."

With the goal of crafting indelible experiences and bolstering local tourism, the Akwaaba Village will showcase cultural displays, traditional music, dance, and a gastronomic odyssey through authentic Ghanaian dishes. The GTA urges families, tourists, and the general public to mark their calendars for this extraordinary celebration of Ghana’s culture and hospitality.
