Dennis Edward Aboagye Calls on Ghacem to Reduce Cement Prices Amid Decreased Fuel Costs

Presidential staffer and New Patriotic Party (NPP) communication member Dennis Edward Aboagye, also known as Miracles, recently took to Twitter to call on Ghana Cement (Ghacem) to lower the cost of cement. In his tweet on May 16, 2023, Miracles highlighted that fuel prices had been reduced, and therefore Ghacem should also take the necessary steps to reduce cement prices.

Addressing Ghacem directly, Miracles tweeted, "Dear @Ghacem_ltd, GPRTU has started doing the needful. Please follow suit and reduce your prices. The last time you increased cement prices astronomically, the dollar was 16 cedis, and now it's 11 cedis. Fuel prices were 24 cedis, and now they're 11 cedis."

He further pointed out that fuel prices had consistently decreased over the past six months, and the dollar had also stabilised during the same period. Moreover, transportation prices had been reduced by 10%, indicating a positive trend. Given these developments, Miracles emphasised that there is a compelling reason for Ghacem to lower the price of cement.
In his plea, he ended the tweet by saying, "We dey beg," which conveys a request for consideration and understanding.

Miracles' call for Ghacem to reduce cement prices reflects the sentiment among consumers, who are hopeful that the recent improvements in fuel prices, exchange rates, and transportation costs will translate into more affordable construction materials. It remains to be seen how Ghacem will respond to this appeal and whether it will consider adjusting the prices of cement accordingly.
