UFC legend Cain Velasquez has been granted bail in an attempted murder case.

According to tmz.com, the legendary UFC champion Cain Velasquez has been released on bail.

Cain Velasquez's bail in his attempted murder case has been granted, allowing the UFC legend to be released for the first time in over 8 months.

Velasquez's bail was set at $1 million, and the judge also ordered the former fighter to wear a GPS monitor and stay away from the alleged victims in the case if he posts it.

The 40-year-old has been imprisoned since February 28, when authorities claim he fired a gun at Harry Goularte, a man accused of molesting one of Velasquez's relatives.

Velasquez's attorneys had argued for months that he should be granted bail, but prosecutors were adamantly opposed, claiming he was still a threat to Goularte.
Previously, judges had sided with the prosecutors... and Velasquez's bail had been denied.

However, during a hearing in a Santa Clara, California, courtroom on Tuesday, a judge ultimately ruled in favour of bail, citing, among other things, Velasquez's clean prior criminal record and his fatherhood.

Velasquez remains scheduled to stand trial in the case, facing 10 criminal charges for his alleged role in the February attack.
