My neighbour told me to stop having a bath late in the evening - I couldn't believe he made such a ridiculous request

A WOMAN confessed that her neighbour recently made a bizarre request that left her feeling awkward.

Although it's not unusual for neighbours to want to peace and quite in the evenings, his ask took that to a whole other level.

The mum was baffled by the strange ask

She revealed on Mumsnet that she enjoys relaxing in the bath late in the evening.

As a single mum, that's usually the only time she has to decompress.

But after tucking her four-year-old into bed, eating and sorting stuff for the next day and finishing other tasks it's around 9:30pm.

"I like to have a bath, empty the bath water at around 10:30pm then crawl into bed. This is probably three times a week," she explained.

The mum thought nothing of her nightly routine, until her neighbour of two years confronted her about it, on behalf of his wife.

Apparently the neighbour's wife could hear the water from the bath draining in the evening and wanted her to bathe earlier in the day.

Gobsmacked, the mum said unfortunately that's the only time she has to have a bath, so can't change it.

He even asked if she'd be able to leave the water in the tub overnight and empty it in the morning, so the noise doesn't disturb his wife

"Obviously I can't because my bathroom would go mouldy," she wrote.

She continued: "I don't complain when their dog barks at 11pm or I can hear their TV at two in the morning, because some noise is expected.

"I know, this all sounds a bit ridiculous but I actually feel awkward having a bath in the evening now.

"Never in my life had to worry about when I wash!"
