Otto Addo To Stop Coaching Black Stars After World Cup

"I think, as a national coach, you should also reside in the country you work for in the long run. But I see myself personally in Germany in the next several years,"Addo said Ruhr14, as published by Goal.

Addo was named as the interim coach of the Black Stars in February, but also now acts as a scout and assistant trainer at Dortmund.

His stock rose when he managed Ghana to book their berth at the World Cup at the expense of West African rivals Nigeria.

His term as head coach was, consequently, extended by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) until after the World Cup.

In May, the general secretary of the GFA, Prosper Harrison Addo, claimed the Association was satisfied with Addo juggling his positions at Ghana and Dortmund.

"The GFA has been talking to the coaches of clubs and very soon we will conclude contracts with them," he told the Graphic Sports.

"We are striving to get all the technical teams together, as recommended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and we are at a level where all of them are okay.

"We have to agree to contracts and get other stakeholders such as the government which is responsible for paying national team coaches to agree to the terms, and then we sign the contracts."

However, Otto's new statements suggest he may not stick around after the World Cup, where the Black Stars are pitted against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.
