Black Sherif Wins VGMA 2023 Artiste of the Year
Ghanaian afrobeat and hip-hop artist Black Sherif has won the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) for Artiste of the Year.
The award was presented to him at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Black Sherif, whose real name is Mohammed Ismail Sherif, was up against some stiff competition in the Artiste of the Year category, including Piesie Esther, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Kidi, Camidoh, and Joe Mettle. However, he was ultimately able to secure the win thanks to his strong fan base and his critically acclaimed debut album, "Kwaku the Traveller."
