Ashanti Region: Burnt Human Body Found In A Car

Police in Kuntanase, in the Ashanti Region, has opened investigations after a charred body was found in a vehicle destroyed by fire at Tetrefu in the Bosomtwe District.

Residents who made the shocking discovery along the Tetrefu-Homabenase road on Monday, are not ruling out a case of arson and murder. They were unable to determine whether the body was a man or a woman.

Police officers dispatched to the scene have since conveyed the body to the morgue. The assemblyman for the area, Kusi Obuodum, says efforts are underway to identify the victim.

“The vehicle was parked in-between Tetrefu-Homabenase road. Even so, whoever did it drove the car about 40 meters away from the main road before committing the crime.

“We have no idea what might have led to the death of the victim and so we immediately informed the police at Kuntanase who have since taken over investigations into the incident,” Obuodum narrated.

The burnt saloon car with registration number GT-2887-22 has since been towed by the police as part of investigations.
