The contentious Nigerian singer Portable wished Ashabi, one of his baby mamas, a happy birthday on Instagram.

She has openly and frequently shown her support for Portable.
It is hardly surprising that he wished her a happy birthday in public considering their seeming friendly connection.

Though mainly kind and thoughtful, one particular line in Portable's letter to his baby mama sparked quite a commotion.

It says this:

"A woman cannot declare her love for you if she has no money."

In the comment section, a few internet users questioned his message, stating that they did not grasp it.
