With the Wildaland Festival, we will do everything possible to restore peace - Sammy Baah

Samuel Atuobi Baah, manager for Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, has assured the general public that peace will be restored between his artist and Maverick City Entertainment, organizers of Wildaland Festival.

The assurance comes after an earlier report by Nydjlive.com that Shatta Wale had been ordered by the commercial division of Accra High Court to pay an amount of $120,000.

In an order of substituted service published in the Ghanaian Times Newspaper, the court led by her ladyship Afi Agbanu Kudomor J. granted other reliefs to the plaintiff.

Among other reliefs, judgment was entered on behalf of the plaintiff (Maverick City Entertainment) for interest on the sum of $120,000 from 14th December 2021 to the date of the final payment at a rate of 5.5% (New York federal interest rate) being a sum total of ten thousand eight hundred and ninety-two United States Dollars forty-seven cents ($10,892.47).

Speaking on Onua FM on Saturday, November 11, 2023, the manager revealed the news came as a surprise to him personally and believes Shatta Wale has not been officially notified of it.

“I knew Shatta Wale and the organizers of Wildaland Festival had that non-appearance discussion but I only saw the story of the judgement this morning. Unfortunately, it has not been brought to Shatta Wale’s attention officially.”

He however assured the general public that the management of the artist would do everything possible to restore calm and peace between the parties.

“We are going to handle this. We are going to discuss this and I am sure it’s under control. The court is done so we’ll do everything possible to restore calm and peace between the parties.”
