Yemi Alade is scheduled to perform at the 2023 AFCON Opening Ceremony.
The AFCON 2023 organizers have revealed that Nigerian singer Yemi Eberechi Alade will take part in the competition's opening ceremony on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Stade Olympique Alessane Ouattara in Abidjan.
Yemi Alade, 34, collaborated with Egyptian rapper Mohamed Ramadan and Ivorian pop trio Magic System to record the official AFCON 2023 song, "AKWAABA."
It was during the draw in October when they debuted the official anthem.
The MTV African Music Awards winner and AFRIMA winner will light up the stage prior to Guinea Bissau vs. Ivory Coast's opening game.
