8 SHS students in Ghana have been 'dismissed' for insulting Akufo-Addo!

Eight students from the Chiana Senior High School in the Upper East Region have been dismissed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) for reportedly insulting President Akufo-Addo.

The pupils had been suspended before being dismissed.

The GES claims that their investigation into the incident established that the students insulted the President with foul language.

Thus, it has described the students' behavior as “very undesirable, and contrary to the acceptable standards of the conduct generally required of any student in Ghana’s educational system.”

President Akufo-Addo had previously received an apology from the GES for the remarks made by students. “We wish to inform the general public that the students in the video have been identified as second-year students of Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena Nankana West District.

“Management of GES wishes to extend our sincerest apology to the President and the general public on behalf of the students and school”, says portions of the statement issued on November 14, 2022.
