Chief Moomen: The Genius brain behind “The Mansa World” – One of Ghana’s biggest art!

The name Abdul Moomen Muslim may sound unfamiliar to many and the stage name Chief Moomen, may not be a recognizable brand to a few but I had the shock of my life when for the first time I witnessed a theater production so big, it transported me beyond the boundaries of space and time to the year AD 1,200 right inside the University of Ghana, ETS Drama Studio on 14th January 2023!

With impeccable creative vision, Chief Moomen is a man you need to be aware of whether you're interested in theatrical plays or not. KSM (Kwaku Sintim-Misa) can attest to the fact that the brilliant mind behind one of the most powerful theatrical productions in Ghana has literally taken the concept of arts beyond the bounds of what is possible in Ghana and beyond Africa.

My mind was completely blown away as I watched my first world-class theater performance in a recent workshop put on by Chief Moomen and his team, called "The Mansa World." From the start of the play to the ending, I had chills down my spine, and just when you think a scene needs to change, it does. It's as if Chief Moomen has carefully identified every element required to make an audience fall in love without a doubt; The Mansa World is everything.

The Mansa World was previewed to private audiences with the strict instruction that photography and videography were not permitted during the workshop presentation, and boy-oh-boy, this is a production I would not mind paying $1,000 USD to go see over and over again! It was performed at the University of Ghana's ETS Drama Studio on January 13th and 14th, 2023, and everything including the thought-provoking stage design, acting, costuming, lighting, direction, and sound, truly is deserving of an international exhibition. The Mansa World is written and produced by Abdul Moomen Muslim professionally known as Chief Moomen.

WHO IS CHIEF MOOMEN: At his essence, Chief Moomen is a storyteller. He is able to take in complex knowledge, synthesize information, and present it in engaging ways for use in publications, plays, and movies, among other mediums. He is a young man with excellent ideas and a strong desire for taking on challenging initiatives. He has offered creative consulting services for multinationals over the past 15 years in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, banking, energy, education, and NGOs.

Currently, Chief Moomen is taking charge of orchestrating one of Africa's largest investments in arts and culture projects. His latest endeavor, The Mansa World, explores the history and traditions of the African and Black diaspora through theater, movies, books, and other well-curated and captivating content for a global audience. With a performing cast of 500 people, Chief Moomen designed the opening and closing ceremony performances for the Total African Women's Cup of Nations hosted in Ghana in November 2018!
