Perbi Cubs Unveils 3rd Edition of Inter-School Reading Quiz, Honored by the Presence of the Mayor of Accra

Excitement filled the air on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, as the long-anticipated Perbi Cubs Inter-School Reading Quiz was officially launched at Ave Maria School in Dansoman.

The event marked a significant step in fostering a love for reading, encouraging literacy, and promoting intellectual development among the youth.

The launch received a warm reception from the school's management team, and the students participated with great enthusiasm.

Mrs. Anyele Perbi, the CEO and Founder of Perbi Cubs, graced the occasion, emphasizing the importance of cultivating reading habits among the younger generation.

The Mayor of Accra, Hon. Elizabeth Kwatsoe Sackey, and the previous year's quiz winners added to the grandeur of the event.



The presence of students from various private and public schools, along with the media and other dignitaries, highlighted the significance of the occasion.

This marked the third edition of the competition organized by Perbi Cubs, in collaboration with UNESCO, as part of the Accra World Book Capital activities.



The competition, open to private and public school students across Accra, aims to challenge participants in reading comprehension while fostering critical thinking and analytical skills.

The event brought together educators, parents, and local leaders who share a common commitment to nurturing a passion for reading among the city's youth.



During her impactful address at the launch event, Mrs. Anyele Perbi passionately emphasized the transformative journey that awaits participants in the Perbi Cubs Inter-School Reading Quiz.

The event marks not just a competition but a comprehensive program aimed at nurturing intellectual growth and instilling a profound love for reading among the students of Accra, Ghana, and Africa as a whole.

As the launch sets the stage, a crucial registration period will follow, inviting schools from across the city to sign up and embark on this literary adventure.

Mrs. Perbi underlined the significance of the subsequent month dedicated to coaching and warm-up sessions.

This preparatory phase is designed not only to hone the participants' reading comprehension skills but also to cultivate critical thinking, and analytical abilities and prepare the potential contestants.

It is during these sessions that students will be equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to face the challenges that lie ahead in the competition.



Highlighting the inclusive nature of the Inter-School Reading Quiz, Mrs. Perbi expressed her enthusiasm for the qualifying rounds that will follow the coaching period.

These rounds, she explained, will serve the dual purpose of evaluating the students' aptitude for reading and shortlisting the schools that will advance to the final stage.

The culmination of this literary journey will be the highly awaited live broadcast of the final competition, scheduled for February 2024, on major TV network(s).
