Study reveals how whiskey enhances SKIN HEALTH

According to a ground-breaking study, whisky's components can maintain healthy skin.

The drink's leftovers might lessen skin redness and puffiness. The study's participant, Zaza & Cruz, currently employs the component in their goods. By-products from Scotland's national drink can be put into skincare products to improve the skin's look.

This includes minimizing swelling and redness, relaxing inflammation, and preventing environmental free radical damage.

Pot ale, a byproduct of the whisky-making process that is used as animal feed, has been shown in a study by Robert Gordon University's (RGU) School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, Aberdeen, to have antioxidant effects in skincare.

The main goal of their study is to incorporate the minerals and polyphenols from whiskey into beauty products.

The samples for the tests were obtained by the company's founder, Rebecca Hastings, from a nearby distillery in the Highland town of Dingwall after being turned down elsewhere.

The positive impact the sake yeast fermentation process had on the skin, which had been demonstrated by a Japanese firm in the 1970s, served as the original inspiration for RGU's study.

"The RGU team has created a wonderful cooperation with Zaza & Cruz and this is demonstrated by two successful research studies researching the antioxidant impact of pot ale from whiskey for health care products," stated Carlos Fernandez, senior lecturer at RGU and the project's principal investigator.

The exercise, according to Ms. Hastings, helped her company "look forward to the future." As a business owner in her industry, she continued, "Having the experience of the staff at RGU encouraged me to feel confidence in the outcomes that they could deliver with their research facilities."
