Minority Chief Whip Celebrates Yuletide with Teachers ,Health workers and others in Adaklu

The member of Parliament for Adaklu Constituency, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, who doubled as Minority Chief Whip in Ghana's parliament celebrates yuletide with Teachers, nurses and other public workers in Adaklu Constituency.

In a brief ceremony held at Adaklu Helekpe EP church and Adaklu Waya SHS, representative of the law maker met all basic and second cycle teachers in the Adaklu district to interact with them.

The delegation led by the Constituency chairman, Hon. Jerry Yao Ameko, used the platform to thank all teachers, nurses, educational and health workers in the Adaklu district for the good work they are doing for the people of Adaklu.

He assured the gathering that, it is only the NDC that has better policies and vision for their sector.
"It's the fervent wish of the NDC to redeem this country from the mess created by this government since they took over power in January,2017". He stressed.

Hon. Jerry Yao Ameko outlined some major projects and activities carried out by the Minority Chief Whip over the years in the district which include, construction of classroom blocks, construction of health centres , nurses' bungalows and a teacher's bungalow at Adaklu Dzakpo. Notwithstanding that, the constituency chairman mentioned some financial supports the law maker do make to the two major sectors in the district.



The District Director of Health Services, Mr. Mathew Ayamba Adam , thanked the law maker for his magnificent supports and services that he, the law maker, is providing in the eighteen health centres in the Adaklu district out of which two are private health centres.



The District Director of Education, Mr. Mac-Peter Dumatonu, acknowledged the kind gesture of the member of Parliament, Hon Kwame Governs Agbodza, that , this is of its first kind that a member of Parliament will meet all teachers in the district and celebrate Christmas for them.

The basic and second cycle teachers, educational and health workers used the podium to put before the member of Parliament some challenges impeding their services in the district. Few of such challenges including stagnation of teachers at the Deputy Director rank, deliberate failure of teachers during promotion exams, failure in promoting the junior ranks in Ghana Education service, government's failure in supplying the laptops to teachers despite paying for them for more than a year now. The teachers also made mention of lack of textbooks for the government's new standard based curriculum. The health workers complained of computers at the health centres while both sectors suggest to the member of Parliament to make housing and accommodation for teachers and nurses a national policy.

The delegation presented some items on behalf of the Minority Chief Whip to all teachers, nurses, educational and health workers in the district.

Other public servants such as the Ghana Ambulance service, Ghana National Fire Service, The police service, The judiciary, staffs of the Adaklu district Assembly and others were all part of this kind gesture by the member of Parliament, Hon Kwame Governs Agbodza.

The Constituency chairman, Hon. Jerry Yao Ameko, on behalf of the member of Parliament, Hon Kwame Governs Agbodza, wished all workers in his constituency a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
