Mr Leslie Mensah Tamakloe Donates To Flood Victims In The Volta Region

Mr Leslie Mensah Tamakloe an entrepreneur with interest in oil and gas , renewable energy,power the internet and telecommunications and the chairman of the Beneficial Onwership Disclosure and an astute member of the National Democratic Congress has made donations to the victims of the Dam spillage in the Volta Region on Thursday, October 26.

Mr. Leslie Mensah Tamakloe and his team were welcomed with a durbar by the Chiefs, Queen mothers, MPs, representives of NDC and the good people of the affected communities in the region.

The durbar was held at Sogakope near Top Oil and hosted by Hon Wisdom Kobena Woyome, MP for South Tongu. In Hon Woyome's address, he thanked Mr Leslie Mensah Tamakloe and his team for making it to Sogakope and he equally welcomed his other colleague MPs present to received the relief items for the affected people in their constituencies.

According to Mr Leslie, acknowledging the dire circumstances the victims are faced with, there is the need for all stakeholders to focus on the aftermath of the disaster to lessen the grave effects when the flood water recedes.



He emphasized that it was very crucial to look beyond political dimensions and focus on the well-being of the affected communities and expressed his commitment to supporting the victims.

"There is one other aspect which we have to deal with in terms of the aftermath effects when the water has receded. The effect of the water on infrastructure, and the difficulties of clearing the mud”, Mr. Leslie Mensah Tamakloe stated.

The items he donated included 200 bags of rice, 1,200 bags of sachet water, 30 boxes of cooking oil, 20 bags of sugar, 30 boxes of tin tomatoes, 20 boxes of tin fish and 20 boxes of peak milk.

The Member of Parliament for Central Tongu, Alexander Gabby Hottordze thanked Mr Leslie Mensah Tamakloe on behalf of his colleagues for the donation and equally called on all stakeholders in the affected areas to unite and advocate for a state of emergency to be declared.
