Samuel Asante Mireku Biography: The Musical Journey of Ghanaian Artist Odehyie Sam

Emerging from the vibrant music scene in Ghana's capital city, solo artist Odehyie Sam has made his mark with patriotic anthems and soulful tracks that resonate with audiences across the country. Real name Samuel Asante Mireku, his musical origins trace back to age 13, composing songs and honing his craft.

A fortuitous collaboration in 2000 with singer-songwriter Isaac Nana Yeboah led to the formation of their music duo, Adehyie (Royals). Blending their creative talents and passion, Adehyie achieved a career milestone in 2005 with their rousing patriotic composition "Asomdwe O Ghana" (Peace in Ghana).

This breakthrough anthem caught the attention of Ghana's National Commission for Civic Education, leading it to be endorsed as the official 2008 elections campaign song. With Adehyie thrust into the national spotlight, Odehyie Sam's ability to imbue music with uplifting messages became evident.

Though the duo split in 2008 to pursue solo work, Odehyie Sam embarked on a journey marked by faith and resilience. In 2015 he unveiled his debut solo album "Gye Me So" featuring top Ghanaian artists. Lyrically reflecting his life struggles and triumphs with gratitude, this album cemented his status as a promising solo talent.



Infusing contemporary sounds with spiritually meaningful themes, Odehyie Sam counts legendary Ghanaian musicians like McAbraham and Kojo Antwi among his influences. With collaborations also spanning gospel and inspirational artists, his goal is uniting audiences through music's emotional power.



Now preparing an inspirational 2024 comeback single "Biggy Biggy", Odehyie Sam blends musical prowess with skilfully crafted lyrics across genres like Hiplife, Afrobeat, gospel and more. As an artist connecting Ghana's rich culture with global audiences, Odehyie Sam continues making his indelible mark on Ghana's vibrant music landscape.
