Fred Nii Amugi is a Ghanaian actor. He rose to prominence in 1985 when he starred in the television series "Opinto".
He was born in Teshie, Accra Ghana. He attended the Brooks basic and Junior high School, Takoradi Senior High School, and Nungua Senior High school. He obtained a certificate in Supplies and Materials Management from the University of Ghana.
Fred Amugi served as the acting director of supply in Ghana's Ministry of Finance and worked as a civil servant for thirty-three years.
He began his acting career in 1979, in drama and documentaries until he starred in the first movie that shot him into the limelight, a television series, "Opinto". His first international role came in 2005 when he played the character Kwame Attakora in the BBC drama Holby City.
Fred Amugi starred in a Netflix movie in 2015, Beasts of No Nation as "Pastor" and also played the role of Pastor Uchebo in The Cursed Ones, a British award-winning movie.
