Samuel Wilberforce Awuku-Darko was a Ghanaian politician and accountant. During the second republic, he served ad the minister of state and the minister of Works and Housing.

From 1967 to 1969 he was the president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

He was born on 23 May 1924 at Afransu, near Mangoase in Suhumm Eastern Region of Ghana. He attended the Presbyterian Junior School, Suhum for his basic and early education, and then the Presbyterian Boys' Middle Boarding School Akropong-Akuapim for his senior high school education. From1939 to 1942 he attended the Prince of Wales College, Achimota, and then proceeded to the Trinity College, Suhum.

Career

In 1944, he worked as a second division at the income tax department and had professional training with Messrs Cassleton Elliott and company in Ghana and the United Kingdom as an articled clerk in 1950. He proceeded to work with the company from 1957 to 1958 and then entered active politics in 1969.

Samuel Wilberforce Awuku-Darko was the chairman of the Board of Governors of Suhum Secondary Technical School in 1966.

He was elected member of parliament in 1969 to represent the Suhum constituency serving till 1972. He served in the capacity of the ministry for housing, merged with the ministry for works from 1969 to 1972 but when the Busia government was overthrown, he became the minister for works and housing from 1 February 1971 to 13 January 1972.
