Asiedu Nketia announces his intention to run for the NDC chairmanship Position - "I will be a good leader."

The National Democratic Congress's (NDC) General Secretary has announced his desire to run for party chairman.

On Thursday, October 13, Johnson Asiedu Nketia made his plan known in an interview with Class FM, a station situated in Accra.

He claims that in order to have the experience necessary to serve as the party's chairman, he has held a number of jobs.

He claims that he has held a variety of positions throughout his life, in the party, and in the nation at large.
Asiedu Nketia claimed that this had adequately prepared him.

"I took part in the resistance to our nation's military rule before entering Parliament. I served as various committee chairs over my twelve years there.

By serving as the Deputy Minister in charge of Agriculture, I gained experience in executive positions. I have held many positions, including board chairman.

"With my expertise, I am convinced that I will be a good leader and an example to my party," he continued.
In the race will be Mr. Asiedu Nketia and Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the party's current chairman.

On December 17, the NDC will convene its national congress to choose national executives.
