UTAG, TEWU-GH and three major labour unions declare an indefinite strike, starting Monday, October 17.

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), one of the country's four largest labor organizations, has announced an indefinite strike that will begin on Monday, October 17.

This is because, at a meeting last Friday, October 14, held by the National Labor Commission (NLC), the government rejected a "proposal" regarding their requests.

The four labor unions represented by UTAG, Teachers and Educational Workers Union-Ghana (TEWU-GH), Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), and Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana met to discuss the Fuel, Vehicle Maintenance, and Off-Campus Allowances demands (SSA-UoG).

However, the labor unions said in a notice of strike that the employer "had, once again, failed to adhere to the mandate of the NLC."
