C/R: ASSIN NORTH DCE FILES DEFAMATION COMPLAINT AGAINST ASSEMBLY MEMBER FOR BREKU BRASIAKOH ELECTORAL AREA

The Assin Foso Divisional Police Commander, ACP Edith Gaanu today invited the Assemblymember for Breku Brasiakoh electoral area, Mr. Elisha Sarpong, widely known as Prof Elisha following a complaint made against him by the DCE of the area.

A close source disclosed that the Assin North District Chief Executive, Hon. Charles Ohene Andoh submitted to the police that Prof Elisha had allegedly made defamatory speeches and false publications on various WhatsApp platforms against him.

The allegations that the DCE contended were false, baseless, unsubstantiated, and concocted including hoarding electricity meters, sharing agricultural inputs meant for farmers to pro-NPP Assemblymembers meant for the constituents.

The DCE's complaints against the Assemblymember also contain allegations that the DCE is behind the printed posters of the MP for Assin North Hon James Gyakye Quayson describing him as a missing MP.

Enunciating, he told the police Prof Elisha has on various platforms including local information centers described him as "toilet DCE", suggesting he has built only toilet facilities in the constituency since he assumed office in 2017.

With regards to what has transpired,

he believes it's an unscrupulous way strategically employed to denigrate and tarnish his hard-earned reputation.

Hon Charles Ohene Andoh asserted that there is no iota of truth in the above accusations hence reporting to the police for investigations.

Meanwhile, Prof Elisha has written his statement and challenged the DCE to prove the accusations with cogent evidence to substantiate the claims.

The Divisional Police Commander, however, called for calmness to prevail as the case is still under investigation and further scrutiny.

Note: The DCE is yet to confirm or deny the story when he was contacted.
