His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II and entire Asanteman celebrated the first Akwasidae in 2024 in a colourful ceremony, full of visitors and entourage at the Manhyia palace.

The Ashanti Kingdom is widely recognized in the world due to the gallant nature of the Ashanti's since the colonial and pre-colonial era. A lot of people from Ghana and other countries graced the occasssion and made it a greater force to be reckoned with.

Dignitaries including royals from the Hausa State of Kano in Nigeria, and tourists from various parts of the world witnessed the rich cultural heritage of the Ashanti's and Ghana as Otumfour sat in the palanquin to display to the whole world what Ghanaians truly have.
