NSMQ 2023: Prempeh College Silences Mawuli School & Abetifi Presby SHS To Go To The Semi Finals.

Five times champions of the National Science & Maths Quiz, Prempeh College ended the hope of Volta Regional NSMQ champions Mawuli School and Abetifi Presby SHS of going into the semi finals with a fabulous display to send them packing from the contest.

Mawuli School and Abetifi Presby SHS came into the contest stronger looking at their sterling performances in the one eight stage, as they beat Amaniampong SHS, St.Catherine SHS and Labone SHS, SDA SHS Agona with 52 and 42 points respectively. Despite the previous stage achievements, Prempeh has tamed them at the quarter finals stage to go to the semi finals.

Between the three schools, Mawuli School, Prempeh College and Abetifi Presby SHS, the first round results clearly saw Prempeh College jumping to the top with 25 points as against 19 and 18 points respectively for Mawuli School and Abetifi Presby SHS.

Prempeh College took a comanding lead with 38 points from the Pepsodent Speed race, leaving Mawuli School and Abetifi Presby SHS with 16 and 18 points respectively but that wasn't all to convince the quiz mistress Elsie Effah Kaufmann of total supremacy in the Problem of the day. This time around, Mawuli School outclassed Prempeh College and Abetifi Presby with 4/10points as against 2/2 for both Prempeh and Abetifi Presby SHS in the problem of the day contest.

In the nutshell, after battling it out in the entire rounds, Prempeh College punished the other two contesting schools by widening the gap between themselve and the two other contesting schools, as they obtain 57 points, 24 more than Mawuli School who obtained 33 points and 27 more than Abetifi Presby SHS who garnered 30 points.
