Opoku Ware School's Last Minute Magic Sends Home Stubborn Osei Tutu & St John Sch From Going To Semi Finals of 2023 NSMQ

One of the most intriguing contest for the 1/4 stage of the 30th edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz currently ongoing at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has arguably been the contest that existed this morning between the two Ashanti Regional giants Opoku Ware School and Osei Tutu SHS and the Western Regional based St Johns School.

Opoku Ware was known to pose their usual threat to the other two schools from the onset of the contest as two times champions but after ganering a whooping points of 34 as against Osei Tutu SHS and St Johns School who picked 18 and 15 points respectively, that wasn't the end for Osei Tutu.

The Abrempong persevered to close the gap a bit with 24 points as against Opoku Ware who only picked one point from the Pepsodent Speed Race whiles St Johns School remained at 11 points. In fact all hope was lost as others contemplated a total victory for Opoku Ware due to the gap but that wasn't the case.

None of the contesting schools was able to pick a point from the Problem of the Day contest but the True or False contest saw Osei Tutu SHS, known as the Abrempong, to catch up with OWASS after they had most of the answers correct whiles Opoku Ware got many of their T/F questions wrong. At the end of the round 4, Opoku Ware School had pick 39 points, 37 points for Osei Tutu SHS and 18 points for St Jonhs School.

The climax of the contest thus, the Goil Riddle Bonanza, the final round of 5 looked scarier for Opoku Ware School after Osei Tutu correctly answered the first riddle correctly to put fears in the Akatakyie (Santasi Boys). Finally, Opoku Ware School with their resilience, academic prowess got to the Semi finals by answering the tie final riddle correct to obtain 45 as against Osei Tutu SHS 43 points.

Congratulations ! Opoku Ware School for going to the Semi finals.
