5 most educated presidents in the world | see who top the list

Others argue that theoretical knowledge has no place in politics and that legislators instead need to rely on their experience. One side believes that their leaders should be educated and well-read, while the other believes that education has no part in politics. Both sides of this issue have good points to make. 

It has been shown that even the most oblivious persons may rise to the level of politician and generate excellent legislation. It’s important to refer back to [citation needed] But there is a certain appeal to a college degree. A good education can boost a person’s confidence, intelligence, and ability to think critically. There’s no denying the popularity of politically astute leaders among the general public. To the great benefit of the people, a sizable proportion of this country’s political leadership is comprised of persons with advanced degrees. This is a list of the top five countries in terms of educational attainment around the globe:

Singapore’s current prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong, is widely regarded as one of the world’s most highly educated political leaders. In 1971, he applied to the Public Service Commission and was awarded two scholarships: the President’s Scholarship and the Singapore Military Forces Overseas Scholarship. These grants allowed him to pursue his mathematical studies at Trinity College, University of Cambridge. He attended Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and earned his master’s degree in public administration there in 1980. It was in 1980 that he finally got his diploma. 

Merkel, Angela 4. 

A highly educated politician, Helmut Kohl earned a Ph.D. in physical chemistry before entering politics in 1989 and subsequently serving as Chancellor of Germany from 2005 to 2013. From 1978 through 1990, Merkel was an employee at the Central Institute for Physical Chemistry at the Berlin-Adlershof branch of the Academy of Sciences. She used the location for both her academic studies and her research. 

Thirdly, the distinguished doctor Manmohan Singh. 

D. Manmohan Singh, a former prime minister of India, earned a master’s degree in economics from Punjab University. He graduated from St. John’s College, University of Cambridge with a degree in economics in 1957. The year 1960 marked the start of his doctoral studies at Oxford (DPhil). 

Hassan Rouhani comes in second. 

Previously, Hassan Rouhani served as the country’s head of state. 

Former Iranian diplomat who attended a religious-affiliated elementary school. Between 1969 through 1972, he studied at the University of Tehran to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Judicial Law. After thereafter, in 1995, Rouhani received a Master of Philosophy in Law from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland.

President Gudmundur Johannesson of Iceland comes from a long line of accomplished scholars. He completed his undergraduate work in both history and politics at the University of Warwick. The University of Iceland awarded him a master’s degree in 1997, where he had previously studied. He earned his master’s degree in history from Iran’s St. Antony’s College (affiliated with Oxford University) in 1999. He earned his Ph.D. in history from Queen Mary University of London in 2003.
