A justice of the Court of Appeals gives the Ada Foah community a library.

Justice Victor D. Ofoe, a member of the Court of Appeal, has inaugurated and donated a library to the residents of Ada Foah in the Ada East District of Greater Accra.

The library complex is stocked with a variety of books and other educational resources to promote reading habits among youth and enable them to realize their maximum academic potential.

The Ghana Library Authority was given the facility, which includes a 100-seat conventional library, a reception area, a storeroom, an office, and restrooms.

It is the Ghana Library Authority's fifteenth library in the Greater Accra region and the first in the Ada East District.

Justice Ofoe, a native of Ada Foah, was enthusiastic about the facility and the benefits he intended to impart to the youth in his community when he spoke at the facility's inauguration on Friday.

The importance of quality elementary education in moulding the academic performance of children necessitates instilling in them the habit of reading by providing reading and learning materials.

Full use

Justice Ofoe urged parents and teachers to encourage their children and students to utilize the facility to its utmost capacity.

"Note that you own the library.

We have added an additional learning tool to what you already have.

The students should have a library book to use during the designated library period on the class schedule.

Let's improve literacy together.

Let's utilize this facility to enhance the caliber of education within the district, he suggested.

"Let's put the child on the path to self-development together.

Raise their curiosity, knowledge, capacity for learning, and ability to distinguish between information and misinformation.

As the world evolves, education is no longer an option.

To be a lawyer, mechanic, medical doctor, architect, mason, nurse, or teacher, education is required, and you cannot have education without reading, he emphasized.

Justice Ofoe thanked the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Ada Foah for donating the land for the project, as well as the Ada East District Assembly and Ghana Library Authority for their support.

Research institution

Moses Pormotey, director of education for the Ada East District, urged indigenous Ada citizens to transform the library into a research center to facilitate the study, preservation, restoration, and commercialization of the Dangme culture.

Commendation

Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, the chief executive officer of the Ada East District Assembly, praised Justice Ofoe for his exemplary community service and donation of a library.

She urged other Ada natives and those who had invested in waterfront properties to sponsor similar initiatives in other parts of the district, such as Kasseh, Big Ada, and the various island communities, for the benefit of children in particular.

Edward Addo-Yobo, the Greater Accra Regional Director of the GLA, stated that the authority was prepared to provide the essential reading materials and services for the community's children to derive the greatest possible benefit from the library.

Paulina A. Kwakyewaa, the Magistrate of the Ada Circuit Court, thanked Justice Ofoe for the initiative and encouraged the children of the community to take advantage of the library and utilize their free time there to increase their knowledge.
