A letter addressed to the President. Greetings, Your Excellency!

A letter addressed to the President. Salutations, Your Excellency.

This is my name: Eric Boakye Antwi. Since 2007, when I wrote an open letter to then-President J.A. Kufuor that was published in the Ghanaian Times on August 31, 2007, you may already be familiar with me due to my prominent presence in the Ghanaian press.

Your Excellency, I would like to commend you on your policies, particularly the free senior high school policy that has been in effect since 2016 with tremendous success.

God bless you exceedingly for considering the impoverished and marginalized members of society. Due to this policy, I decided to enter the teaching profession, and on March 2, 2020, I was designated a teacher at Asankragua Senior High School in the Western Region. Since receiving my letter of assignment on March 16, 2020, I have been at post.

Your Excellency, A massive albatross is draped around my neck. Due to the fact that I have not received a staff ID since I began teaching three years ago, I cannot be processed for enrollment on the payroll.

Your Excellency, I have reason to believe that the documents I submitted to the Municipal Education Directorate of the Amenfi West Municipality for processing did not reach Takoradi for submission to Accra. As with all documentation, it may have been lost.

In the same way that you compassionately helped D.K.Poison recover the money the government stole from him in the 1970s, I respectfully request that you use your high office to instruct the Director General of the Ghana Education Service to take action on this matter.

As the Bible states, "A laborer deserves his wages," I am counting on your prudence and generosity to help me get on the payroll so that I can begin receiving compensation.
