A man reports himself to police for shooting another man over an avocado.

A man identified as Oto Acquah reportedly reported himself to the Suhum Police Station for shooting a Qnet employee for harvesting his avocado.

Saturday night around 11:30 p.m., the incident occurred in Kwasi Larbi, a suburb of the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region.

The deceased, who has yet to be identified, and some of his colleagues went to the suspect's house to gather avocados in the compound after returning home near the suspect's enclave.

When the suspect saw the victim picking avocados at night, he retrieved his AK-47 from his room and fatally shot him. The suspect, who has a reputation for being a tyrant in the neighborhood and has been accused of pursuing children who pick his avocados from his property, had been wild in the area and has been accused of chasing children who pick his avocados.

A source verified that the deceased died instantly. Those who were strolling alongside him reportedly fled the scene.

The suspect allegedly kept the body on his property until after midnight before reporting the incident at the police station.
