A security officer is accused of assaulting an expectant woman at Tamale Teaching Hospital

Salamatu Ali, an expectant woman, was allegedly assaulted at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

This incident transpired on May 1, 2023.

She previously went to the hospital to undergo surgery with her infant.

After being released from the hospital, Salamatu decided to leave to pay her expenses.

On her return, the security guard allegedly denied her entry, leading to the assault.

According to witnesses, Salamatu's sister, who was present to assist due to her frailty, attempted to confront the security guard and was pummeled in the process.

A second woman who was also filming the video was assaulted at the medical center.

According to reports, the matter has been reported to the police for further investigation.

Aliru Zubaru, the Public Relations Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, states that the matter has been brought to their attention and that management is presently investigating the situation.

He assured JoyNews that if the perpetrators are found to be culpable after an investigation, they will receive the appropriate punishment.
