According to the gender minister, Bawumia will succeed Akufo-Addo as president.

Zuwera urged spiritual leaders to pray for Bawumia to be elected flagbearer and take over as president following the 2024 general elections.

Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice-president, will succeed Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo as president in 2025, according to Hajia Lariba Abudu Zuwera, the minister of gender, children, and social welfare and MP for the Walewale constituency.

Zuwera urged spiritual leaders to offer prayers for Bawumia to be elected as the nation's flagbearer and take office following the 2024 general elections.

She remarked that the vice president had a good demeanor. When granted the authority, he is capable of performing his job as expected.

In an interview with Dokurugu Alhassan, the North East Regional Correspondent for Asaase Radio, in Walewale on Saturday, April 22, during the Eid ul-Fitr celebration, she expressed her support for Bawumia.

"The vice president is very capable, honest, and humble to lead the party after Nana Addo," she remarked. He is the person who will succeed Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as president of the Republic of Ghana. I stated it was possible because of this.

"The vice president is a voter in my district and he votes. He thus belongs to us. Therefore, I assert that it is plausible.

The minister also urged an end to the protracted chieftaincy dispute between the Mamprusis and the Kusaasis in Bawku. Economic activity in the region has been impacted by the fighting.
