After her two-year-old son drowned in a manhole, the expecting mother reportedly passed out.

At Kasoa Asempa Down in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central region, the incident happened on Friday.

After police officers and NADMO representatives removed the dead body of the lady's son, Lawoe Sejafa, who was nine months pregnant, the reports claim that the woman collapsed.

The toddler was playing on the property when the terrible tragedy occurred, according to Asempa Down Zonal NADMO Coordinator Christopher Appiah.

The manhole was built by a renter, a preacher, according to Mr. Appiah, who claimed to have left it exposed.

Happy Sejafa, the deceased's aunt, told Adom News that her sister was responding well to the treatment she was receiving at Kasoa Polyclinic.

The deceased's body has been placed in the mortuary at St. Gregory Hospital for an autopsy in the interim.
