Akufo-Addo Is Working Hard To Restore The Economy

President Nana Akufo-Addo

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured the public that his administration is working assiduously to resolve the current economic crisis.

In his address to employees at this year's May Day celebration in Bolgatanga, the President stated that his administration is working diligently with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to secure board approval for Ghana's $3 billion bailout request in order to provide relief to Ghanaians.

"We continue to work tirelessly to accomplish all preparatory steps necessary to present Ghana's request for approval to the IMF's integrity board. We have also made significant progress on the debt exchange program and in our negotiations with bilateral creditors in order to secure the financing necessary for the IMF program, as stated by President Akufo-Addo.

The government seeks $3 billion in assistance from the IMF to address the nation's economic difficulties.

President Akufo-Addo also pledged that his administration will strive to resolve the protracted Bawku ethnic conflict before he leaves office.

According to him, achieving durable peace in the Bawku conflict remains his top presidential priority.
